Managing Partner
Daniel founded Spectrum in 2001 and is the firm's Managing Partner. On completion of his Personnel Management degree, Daniel pursued an early career in corporate HR with Cable & Wireless plc and Fujitsu, where he was responsible for staffing the largest IT PFI in history. His executive search career began in 1998 with a UK publicly-listed executive search and technology organisation.
Daniel has conducted senior search assignments for a host of organisations internationally including: Cable & Wireless, BT, Telecom Italia, Nortel Networks, DiData, Cramer and Symbian, and for numerous early-stage ventures backed by the likes of New Venture Partners,3i, Cipio Partners, Apax and Accel.
Patrice Love
Start-up Managed Services
Patrice manages Spectrum’s Managed Services business, which is particularly aimed at start-up and early-stage ventures, as well as more established organisations which require professional support services.
Patrice is highly experienced at working with growth businesses. As Operations Manager for BT’s corporate incubator, Brightstar, she managed a range of services – such as HR, sales, marketing & PR, events, and office management – for a number of start-ups.
In 2006, Patrice set-up her own company to provide early-stage businesses with a range of services, during which time she has supported OSS vendor Evolved Networks, and photonics company CIP. Patrice joined Spectrum in 2007.
Cathy Kay
Senior Partner
Cathy Kay is a Senior Partner at Spectrum. An executive search and selection professional with 25 years experience, she founded Fletcher Kay Executive Search in 2002, focussing exclusively on sales leadership searches for clients in the IT Vendor and Professional Services sector, such as Intelliden, Thomson Group, iet-solutions and Silverwire.
Previously, Cathy was a Partner and Executive Board member at UK plc Corporate Executive Search which was acquired by Renoir Partners in 2001. She ran McGregor Boyall's Technology Search & Selection Practice, and early in her career managed Saatchi & Saatchi's Recruitment Identity Services business. Cathy has conducted assignments in UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France and the USA. Cathy is married with two children, and is actively involved in fundraising activities for local community projects in London.
John Schonert
Senior Partner
John Schonert has over 18 years experience in recruitment. With a background in financial services specialising in corporate lending and business development, John moved into recruitment in 1983. He has worked for a number of leading international recruitment companies, including MSL International and Corporate Executive Search.
John's finance background has enabled him to build strong relationships with inward investment groups and the venture capital community. John is very experienced in delivering pan-European recruitment solutions involving multiple disciplines, for leading international technology and manufacturing companies and venture backed start-ups.
Catherine Stone
PA to the Managing Partner
Catherine is PA to the Managing Partner and ensures the smooth running of Spectrum’s internal operations.
A highly-experienced executive administrator, her career embraces many years with HM Customs & Excise, and the Civil Service where she worked at the Central Office of Information and at 10 Downing Street, as a PA to then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
An experienced recruiter, Catherine is also a professionally trained actress and holds a BA (Honours) degree in Development Studies.
Stewart Davies
Advisory Board Member
Stewart was the first member of Spectrum's Advisory Board. Previously he was Chief Executive Officer of BT Exact, BT's £900m research, development and technical operations organisation. During this time, Stewart was responsible for the creation of Brightstar, BT's technology incubator that spun out six high technology businesses in 2003.
Stewart now pursues an active portfolio career. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Stewart holds a 1st Class Electronic & Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Manchester.
Jeff Gordon
Advisory Board Member
Jeff joined Spectrum's Advisory Board in 2005. Jeff spent over 20 years at Unisys, where he held several positions, including Vice President & General Manager EMEA and Chairman of the European Management Board. Jeff also worked at Motorola, where he was an elected officer of the Motorola Corporation. There he was responsible for the cellular infrastructure business in EMEA and the worldwide account management of the company's global operator accounts.
A well-respected leader in the field of Telecommunications Software & Networking, Jeff is Chairman of Celltick, Intuwave, and Axiom. Jeff holds a BSc in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College, University of London
Steve Callaghan
Advisory Board Member
Steve joined Spectrum’s Advisory Board in December 2006. He is the former CEO and President of Framfab AB, the award winning European web consulting and interactive marketing firm. Steve has a detailed and specific knowledge of the Retail/CPG and online sectors.
He was appointed CEO of Framfab AB following the reversal of SBI Scient’s European business into Framfab in October 2003. In May 2004 he raised €16.4 million in the market to fuel the M&A activities of the company, resulting in the successful completion of four M&A transactions.
Prior to joining SBI Scient, Steve ran IBM Global Services’ outsourcing and e-business activities for the Retail & Distribution sectors. His responsibilities included creating some of IBM’s largest e-business and outsourcing accounts including ASDA (Wal-Mart), Next Plc, Thompson Travel Group, Global Freight Exchange, Equifax, and Arcadia.
Steve holds a BS (Honours) in Electrical Engineering from Cranfield.
