Peter Waine appointed as Chairman of Spectrum’s Advisory Board

Peter Waine has joined Spectrum as of 1st September 2016 as Chairman of the Advisory Board.

A former Director of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Peter is best known as the co-founder of Hanson Green: for many years the principal source for chairmen and non-executive appointments in the UK.

Peter has also served as a visiting Professor at both Warwick and Cass Business Schools, and has been a trustee of The Royal Opera House, a member of the International Cricket Council, and Chairman of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).  He co-authored the management books ‘The Independent Board Director’, ‘Takeover’ and ‘The Board Game’.

Having co-founded Hanson Green in 1989, the firm was acquired in a private equity led transaction in 2008. Peter continued to serve as a director until January 2016.

“I am delighted that Peter has chosen to join Spectrum, as his extensive public and private company board recruiting and advisory experience will be of great value to many of our clients” said Daniel Osmer, Spectrum’s Managing Partner.

“As an entrepreneur, Peter has been highly successful in creating and subsequently realising enterprise value in the face of considerable established market competition. As many of the companies we are retained by are high potential businesses, energetically creating new markets for their own innovative products and services, we expect Peter’s combination of board expertise and entrepreneurial approach to be highly aligned to that of our clients.”
